Kepler’s Tally of Planets at Uncertainty

Jan. 22, 2017

I designed a video projection for the Uncertainty exhibition at ArtCenter College of Design.

Kepler’s Tally of Planets was stripped of annotation and condensed into a grid of 110 planetary systems.

It was great to see the graphic leave the computer screen and take up physical space on a 22-foot wall. The darkened gallery was lit by reflected light from the projected stars.

A review by Sheila Pinkel in Leonardo said: “The show is an experience of the macro and micro and everything in between exhibited economically for maximum effect. ... An example of art/science at its very finest.”

Uncertainty was curated by Stephen Nowlin and ran from Oct. 11, 2016, through Jan. 22, 2017.
