Standard warning symbols often ignore or overlook the complexity of human actions, and the complexity of the injuries, both physical and psychological, that can arise from these actions.
To protect others from complex injuries, I designed the Personal Injury Warning System (piws.org) in 1994, and adapted it for the web in 1998.
Each symbol is based on an injury I have received, and indexed by the date I would have benefitted from such a warning.
